Gutted

Last week was a pretty good week, minus the fact that I flushed my night guard down the toilet...forgot to mention that to you on the phone today mom. Yep, our bathroom is microscopic and so is the medicine cabinet that hangs directly OVER the toilet. I have a very tiny shelf to put all of my toiletries on, mind you it is only large enough to hold my dental floss. Anywho, on Thursday morning I hit the button to flush the toilet and I did something that I will NEVER do again while the toilet is flushing...I opened the medicine cabinet!!! I accidentally knocked something from the toothpick wide shelf and it jumped into the toilet! It happened so quickly I did not have time to think. I hoped that it was my dental floss and not something important....and very expensive... like my night guard. You know, the one that took my mother-in-law endless hours to make! This was the only morning that it was not benificial that the toilets here flush really well. They don't just gently swirl around like the toilets do in the states, leaving little treats behind for all to enjoy...they flush like a torential down pour flooding down the Colorado River! They do not mess around. Mom Felix- I am so sorry-I know how much work you all put into getting me that night guard from your office. I feel so bad and I am pretty bummed that it is no longer around for me to wear at night. I was pretty "gutted" all Thursday morning- as they say here in NZ. But, life does go on...even after such a massive loss. So, if my teeth look kind of jenky this summer when I come home to visit, you will all know why.
