Daddy Mack will make you...Jump! Jump!
Every morning when I wake up I can hear Isaac in his room tinkering around in his cot. I love walking through his door to see his face beaming back at me. He loves seeing me walk into his room. Usually his excitement is displayed through him holding onto the railing of his cot and literally bouncing up and down on his mattress. This morning he jumped up and down for a few solid jumps and then he sat down and picked up the tag from his blanket. He placed the tag between his teeth and proceeded to crawl around like a lion looking for his prey. What a strange kid. At night he does the same thing...I go to put him down and he immediately stands up and starts bouncing up and down in his cot. He squeals with each jump! I must admit that it is fairly difficult for me to keep a straight face. I have to lay him down once more and he usually grabs his blanket and throws it over his head and starts to fall asleep like that (although I remove it), or he attacks his blanket and falls asleep on top of it...with his butt in the air of course. Just wanted to share this special time of the day with all of you.

The Mind of a Scuddler
" I own this joint...mom, can you pass me some more food so I don't have to get up."
"Step into my office. Now, what seems to be the problem?"
"What? I'm innocent! I haven't put anything into my mouth today besides this toy egg....really."
"I'm outta here! Thanks for the egg. "

Play Time
Isaac loves sorting things, poking his little finger at interesting objects, playing with anything that comes apart. A few mornings ago Isaac spent about 10 minutes putting his blanket into a basket, and pulling it out again--over and over again. Yesterday morning I put Isaac in his bottom drawer to see what he would do. He sat in his drawer and pushed all of his pants out of the drawer and onto the floor, then he pulled each one back into the drawer. We also pull him around in the laundry basket...I mean, race car, which he loves.

A Heavy Heart
We received word yesterday of the shootings in Virginia and I must say that my heart is very heavy and sad. My heart breaks for the parents, friends, and loved ones of the students whose lives were taken. I am at a loss for words really, I just feel like crying, but I haven't let myself. Earlier this week a friend told me about a family that was celebrating Easter in Wellington and their three year old son choked on a lollipop and died. I can't seem to get that family and their loss out of my head as well. I find myself praying daily for this family that I have never met...their loss and grief must be so deep and painful. I cannot imagine losing Isaac. Lord, I pray for these families that have suffered so much loss. Only you can make something so horrible and tragic into something remotely good. I pray for healing in these families hearts, for your comfort in their lives, and for your peace to surround and envelop their broken hearts. (ok, I am crying now) Thank you Jesus that we have so much HOPE in YOU! I cannot imagine my life without the HOPE that you provide. I just came across this verse in the bible: "I have said these things to you, that in ME you may have PEACE. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Mr. Twinkle Toes!
I am not sure if you can tell by these pictures, but Isaac twirls his wrists and ankles when he eats! This kid LOVES food. When he sees the bowl coming he starts to rev up his little appendages. This morning he got so excited about his rice cereal that he hit his spoon and launched cereal all over my leg. We both sat and laughed together as it was so unexpected. He did it again tonight when Josh was feeding him...carrots everywhere. We really need to post a video for all of you.

He has Risen!
I remember when I use to think that the Easter Bunny lived in our front yard, beneath a man hole cover that was in our front lawn. Not sure why I thought that, but it seemed rather reasonable. My mom always hid plastic eggs around the house with chocolates in them, although she would tell us that the "Easter Bunny got hungry and had some of your chocolate".
I figured it out quickly that my mom was the chocolate loving Easter Bunny. Well, I know now that Easter is more than just the Easter Bunny bringing me tasty treats. We had a marvelous day celebrating our Risen Lord! It was sunny and we had chicken, potatoes, and bread for dinner. I loved the chicken and potatoes...he ate more than I have ever seen him eat before! He was smacking his lips with each and every bite. We thank God for the eternal life that he has given us in his son.

Weekend Get Away!
We all had so much fun on our two-day get away. It was fun to spend some quality time with the team, eat out and avoid my kitchen (hey dad, we ate some ice cream in honor of you!) Isaac seemed to enjoy playing with some new faces, and the scenery was beautiful! Our taxi cabs were late picking us up from our house on the way home, so we missed the 3pm train. We wound up catching the 3:30 pm train and we were surrounded by about 200 pumped up rugby fans! Everyone that you can imagine was heading into the city for a Hurricane rugby game. Isaac woke up from his nap and he was surrounded by kids with yellow and blue wigs on. He wasn't startled, but he did look a little confused and he wanted to be held by mommy the rest of the way home. Enjoy the fotos!
Waiting for the train...

Jen feeding Isaac
Josh playing his all time favorite game- Settlers!
Chris reading to Isaac- he loves Isaac so much!
He was teaching him how to slam-dunk a ball into his toybox yesterday.

The team enjoyed launching potatoes from the deck into the water from a sling shot named, "Bobby". Don't ask my why the guys on our team named it bobby, but they love their sling shot. They wanted to launch flaming potatoes into the water, but we talked them out of it seeing as how the house was not our own. Man, do I feel like a parent. :)

Crazy Haired Man!
Isaac looks like a character from a Dr. Suess book with his new hair do. What a little lamb. He still enjoys sleeping on his tummy at night, preferrably nestled in the corner of his crib next to the warm bumper pads. This morning he was wedged in the corner of his bed with his blanket over his head talking to himself. He had no idea that I was standing next to his cot admiring him. He is so cute. He is talking so much these days. He still has yet to say a real word, but you can tell that he is taking in a lot and trying to talk. He also gets into everything! We have to watch him at all times. He finds microscopic crumbs on the floor, he likes to explore the kitchen, and he enjoys chewing on anything he can find. Luckily, we have taught him to avoid the heater. He is 10 1/2 months old and he is crawling now. He started doing a double-armed army/belly crawl around 9 months and close to 10 months he was up on his hands and knees. I remember when Josh and I use to enjoy our quiet breakfast time together, while Isaac played peacefully on the floor. If Isaac wanting something that was out of his reach he would pull it to himself via his blanket. He didn't want to crawl- too much effort mom. Now he is up and ready to GO! No more sitting around mom...It's Isaac Time!
Miss Jodi Comes for a Visit
A few weekends ago my friend Jodi came for a visit. It was so good to see her and to catch up with her. The last time I saw her was in 2005 at our wedding. She actually flew from NZ to Colorado for our wedding. She is a great friend and Isaac enjoyed meeting her as well.
