Hudson Loves Food!

Hudson LOVES food! I was a bit wary that he might be a finicky eater because it took him until he was seven months old to warm up to eating rice cereal and other pureed foods, but no worries now....he loves food! Hudson eats anything and everything that I put in from of him. He is particularly fond of finger foods, so much so, that he has banned eating anything that is pureed for the time being. He is a solid boy...that loves solids...my sweet Hudson Wudson.

A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words

Can you tell how excited Hudson is to start crawling? If a picture really is worth a 1,000 words, then this picture says it all. We snapped this foto about a month ago, but Hudson is still not officially crawling. He likes rolling, he can crawl backwards, he spins in circles on his tummy, he even sleeps on his tummy with his head propped up on his little fluffy lamb, but he has not officially crawled yet. So crazy. He is so laid back it makes me laugh. We will be sure to let you all know when he starts scooting around the house. (Isn't this pic cute...Isaac was trying to help him learn how to move his legs.)

Hudson's fake smile

Occasionally Hudson flashes a fake smile...it's as if he knows that he should be happy to see someone, but he is too tired to smile a real smile. :)

Singin' with Daddy

The boys love it when daddy pulls his guitar out at night and plays a few songs. Isaac explodes with joy while jumping on the couch and Hudson sits, listens and claps his hands. What an awesome gift that Josh can play the guitar.

Funny Comments from Isaac

Isaac makes me laugh nearly every day. My favorite thing right now has been putting him to bed at night. He loves being tucked in and he gets pretty silly and excited. He enjoys flashing these HUGE cheesy grins at me every night just to get me to laugh, which he always manages to do. Every night he asks me to sing, "Jesus loves you" and then he asks me to pray for him. I get a kick out of asking him what he wants me to pray for....sometimes his request is for family, teammates, marbles, etc. Too cute!

A few other cute sayings:

Isaac: Bees make honey for their babies...

Mommy: What does a Caterpillar turn into?
Isaac: A caterpillar turns into a goose

Mommy: Do you know that water is good for your body?
Isaac: Yes
Mommy: Are cookies good for your body?
Isaac: Cookies have a lot of sugar in them

[Next Day- Isaac is trying to finagle a few cookies out of me and he says in a most convincing voice]

Isaac: Cookies are good for my body! (coupled with much enthusiasm and an irresistible grin!)

[Next Day]
Isaac suddenly notices my wedding ring
Isaac: Mommy, what is that?
Mommy: That is my wedding ring. Daddy gave it to me on our wedding day...isn't it pretty?
Mommy: Go look at Daddy's finger and check out the wedding band that mommy gave daddy
(Isaac runs to look at daddy's hand)
Isaac: (After looking at daddy's hand, then at his own hand, he says with an astonished voice) Isaac has no diamonds !!

Uncle Bryan's Birthday

It was a treat to be able to celebrate my brother's birthday this year with him in person! We enjoyed celebrating in Taupo as well as taking him out for a special birthday dinner in the city.

Mini Trip to Lake Taupo

My brother Bryan came for a visit during the first week of December. We decided to take a mini family trip during the beginning of his stay, so we drove up to Taupo and rented a wee cottage for two days. It was so good to see him and spend time catching up!! The weather was lovely and we all really enjoyed our time together, especially eating all of that gelato. :) Yummy!

Hudson's little House

We also picked up this toy house for Hudson during the Toy Library summer hire. Hudson loves sitting in it, looking at Isaac through the mail box, and opening and closing the door--over and over and over again.

Do you think Isaac likes Pumpkin Pie and Ice Cream?

Isaac really enjoyed everything that we made for our Thanksgiving meal this year, but his favorite part was definitely the pumkin pie and ice cream! He sat waiting with his mouth open after every bite!
