Good Riddens to the Taco Bed

When Josh and I first arrived here in New Zealand we were delighted to see that we already had a bed in our bedroom...that is, until we slept in it. The first night I was sooooo exhausted that I honestly could have slept on the wood floor in the kitchen and been perfectly happy. Well, it didn't take long for us to notice the big cavern in the middle of our bed, sucking us into the center each night by some supernatural force. By about night 3 or 4, arms sore from attempting to hold on to our side of the mattress each night, Josh and I gave in and slept in the middle of the bed intertwined on top of eachother in a big heap. It was crazy! Thankfully, the Lord has provided us with this awesome bedroom set and we have been sleeping like babies ever since. Just in time to salvage our sore backs! Unfortunalely, the taco bed is currently in our guest bedroom, so hopefully we can have it replaced before anyone comes to visit. :)

Look at the yummy warm wood!

The Great Provider

Right now I just want to throw my arms around Josh's shoulder's, kick my knees up (you know... like in the can can) and sing, "Whooooo could ask for anything more? Who could ask for anything more!!!!!" God is so incredible. He just keeps rolling in the blessings! Ok, so Josh and I do not have a car here. We have a train pass and we have several friends that have graciously offered us the use of their vehicles from time to time, or they have driven us around town themselves. I still find it hard to believe how incredibly giving and generous the kiwis are...just today a lady (Sally) from church stopped by to give me some warm outfits, shoes, pants, toys, etc. for Isaac. This lady has met me ONCE and she is lending me things for my son. wow. I have a lot to learn. Anywho, Sally told us that her friends are moving next week to Melbourn, Australia for 8 months and they need someone to look after their car. Sally mentioned to her friends that we were interested and her friend said ok. Incredible! What an answer to prayer! I was talking to the Lord just the other day and I mentioned in passing that it would be nice if we had a car to get to the store, run a few errands, etc. but that it wasn't a pressing need. One week later....we have a car. Thank you Jesus. You really are tooo wonderful to us. I cannot thank you enough for blessing our family and meeting ALL of our needs. You are worthy to be praised. You are our great provider. Thank you Lord...how could I ask for more.

Don't ya just want to give him a squeeze?

Here are a few pics of Isaac modeling during his tummy time. It is kind of amazing- the kid has always been able to hold his head up...even from day one! I remember him sitting on my shoulder in the hospital as I tried to squeek a few burps out of him after a meal. Isaac was perched on my shoulder bobbing his head around and attempting to chew on my hair. It is an image I will never forget.

I Love Strawberry Fare

Last Saturday night my team took me out for another birthday celebration. We actually went back to the Loaded Hog for our dinner as I knew that it had good food and I really wanted my teammates to experience a satisfying kiwi dinner. The guys have not had a lot of success here in finding good restaurants for some reason. Or maybe they are just food snobs...not sure. Josh was carrying his backpack around all night and it seemed rather odd to me...come to find out his computer was hiding in his pack! He brought it out after we ordered our dessert at our second restaurant. My sweet husband had put together a special birthday slide show, along with a sweet song, to celebrate my 33 birthday. I did shed a tear. The dessert at Strawberry Fare was INCREDIBLE and I have been longing to go back every day since. I seriously would ride my bike there right now if I did not have to stay home with Isaac. I may try to convince Josh to take me back to Strawberry Fare next week on our date night. My mouth is watering already.

Happy Birthday!

Hi, this is Josh writing. Just wanted to post a beautiful collage of the hot date I took my wife on for her birthday. We went out to one of her favorite New Zealand restaurants, The Loaded Hog. They claim a menu of "American Cuisine". While I'm not sure that I'd say that's 100% true, I know that the lamb shanks are pretty tasty. Following our excellent dinner, we strolled along Wellington Harbor and then caught some dessert at a nearby Hotel in the downtown area (because nothing else is open that late on the weekends). We shared a delicious apple crumble and took some silly pictures of each other. Hope you like 'em.

What the heck is a pram?

A pram is the New Zealand name for a stoller. Here is a pic of Isaac in his new pram called a "Mountain Buggy". All the "hip" mom's here have one as it is the only way to tote your child from point A to point B without them being wisked off to Oz in the windy Wellington weather.

Chubby Legs

Isaac has started to grab his legs and play with his feet. Check out his chubby legs in this picture-what a lamb chop. Our friends from church let us borrow this changing table, which has been another testimony to God's provision for us here in NZ.  Posted by Picasa

Go Isaac, Go! Go! Go!

Our friends from Christ Church, Justin and Heather, let Isaac borrow their Johnny Jump Up. This is Isaac's new favorite activity in his day. He is playing with his favorite octopus toy in these pictures...hopefully we can get a video we captured of him "in motion" to work on this blog site so that you all can enjoy it as well. It is sooo precious! Posted by Picasa

Oh dear one, how I love you!

I am pretty tired right now. Josh and I have solved the final Isaac mystery for the week- long story...maybe I will indulge more later. I love this photo of Isaac and I. My son is so precious to me. I thank the Lord that He has allowed me to be a mother to this precious little boy. Isaac, mommy loves you! Thank you for blessing my life with so much fun.  Posted by Picasa

Day of Prayer

Hi there...soon and very soon my blogs will actually coordinate with the date that I am writing them. These photos are from October 3rd. Our team had a day of prayer and we concluded our day with a visit to the Wellington Botanical Gardens. What a perfect place to pray over the city! As you can see, the gardens overlook the city and the Wellington Harbor. What a gorgeous site. Here I am with the women on the team. (From left to right: Jen, Becky, mwa, and Sarah)
Josh and Isaac with the guys on the team.
(from left to right: Alex, Josh, Isaac, Chris, and Matt)
Check out Isaac- the little guy passed out in his car seat after a long day of intercessory prayer. Man, prayer isn't as easy as it sounds is it little guy? He looks like Homey Isaac with his jacket over his eyes... Posted by Picasa

A Beautiful Drive

Josh and I drove down along the coast one morning to pick up a cabinet we bought from our friend Earl (ok, so he is not really our friend, just some guy from "Trade Me" that we purchased our cabinet from) We stopped at this beach and we ate lunch at "The Front Room". We both went for the New Zealand lamb for lunch and man were those little lambs delicious!
