Chocolate Fish Cafe

The last time I visited Wellington was in 2003 with my friend Cathy. She took Sally and I to this awesome cafe called, The Chocolate Fish. I knew that Josh would enjoy it, so we took a little trip down to the beach this week to visit. We both love coffee shops, so I knew that it would be a hit. Here are a few shots from our day. I can take any of you there if you come to visit.

The chairs are very artsy and creative. Each one is painted...my chair is pretty cool.
Only on an island would you see a fabulous sign like this.
Isaac and dad take a stroll along the waterfront right outside the cafe. Posted by Picasa
A few pretty flowers outside of the Chocolate Fish Cafe

Here I am trying to get out of the car without waking up Isaac. He fell asleep in my arms in the car was dad was outside taking an important call. I love cuddling with Isaac, so of course I didn't mind one bit...talk as long as you want hubby.  Posted by Picasa

A Table From Middle Earth?

Josh blogging here - Check out this beautiful table that we bought for our place! It is made from recycled pine timbers (which means the wood was taken from an old building and re-made into a table), so it has some very unique features, like old nail holes, etc. We would have never imagined that we could have gotten such a nice table for as little as we did. We love it! And what I love even more about it is that it's previous owners both worked on The Lord of The Rings movies! John and Leslie moved down to Wellington for the express purpose of working for Peter Jackson on the film. They said it was one of the most amazing experiences and opportunities of their lives. And even cooler than that, John has said he will take me on a "behind the scenes" tour of WETA Workshop (the studio that was responsible for all the special effects and prop work). I'm drooling here! I can't wait. We'll get some pictures up after our special tour. Don't be jealous.
Could Peter Jackson have sat in this chair? Maybe Elijah Wood or Sean Astin?

Happy 1/2 Birthday Isaac!

Isaac turned 6 months old today! I couldn't help myself, I just had to go out and buy him a little cake to celebrate this momentous occasion. He has grown so much over the past 6 months...it is so hard to believe how much our lives have changed and how quickly time has flown by. Happy 1/2 Birthday Isaac! I have added quite a few recent pictures below to display what he has been up to lately. Never a dull moment in the Felix household when Isaac is around. Enjoy!

Oh happy boy that we love!
Check out Josh's lips...I know that you can't hear it, but he is humming the Superman theme song. He loves to hum this tune while flying around the house with Isaac. Isaac is superman in this picture. Can't you tell?
We bought Isaac these really cute bug socks that help babies learn how to manipulate and use their wee feet. Isaac has mastered the use of his feet and he is now onto the dog bone manuever. In this pic he pulled the sock off of his foot and the next time I looked down at him he had the sock in his mouth...I am laughing just looking at him right now. What a chaach. Posted by Picasa
I snapped this photo of Isaac today while he was hanging out on my bed. I knew that my water bottle was empty, so I let Isaac hold it...I looked over and he was doing this! As of this week Isaac is no longer as interested in all of the cool toys that we bought him from the baby store. Instead, he would rather play with or hold anything that Josh or I am holding. At night when we read him his bed time stories Isaac no longer sits in our lap quiet and content, but he wants to hold the book and shove it into his mouth. He is growing and changing so much!
Isaac LOVES his rice cereal. He makes a noise or grunt with every new bite! Is is as if he is saying, "Mom, this is sooo good!" It is really funny to watch.
Check out the Michael Jordan tongue. Isaac has been blowing rasberries and sticking out his tongue. He has two teeth now on the bottom of his mouth.  Posted by Picasa

Josh in Auckland

A few weeks ago Josh travelled to Auckland for a Campus Directors retreat with all of the other directors throughout New Zealand. He had a great time, although he did catch a cold somehow, and he was "out of commission" for a few days after arriving home. Here is the house that he was blessed to stay at for a few nights in Auckland.

The Hills Are Alive

Last Friday Josh watched Isaac so that mommy could go for a hike with her teammates. It felt so good to get outside into the fresh NZ air and the Wellington wind. Here is a fun pic of my teammate Jen.
The boys and I battle the wind in these last two pics. You could almost lean into the wind it was blowing so mightily. At one point during the hike I stopped to put on my rain coat and the wind whipped my zipper into my face...man it hurt like none other...great hike though.

Check out the lush new Zealand country side!
And a few little lambs that we scared away. In this photo they are running away from me... Posted by Picasa

Rubber Ducky You're The One!

Ok, so Isaac is getting way to big for the beloved "sink bath", but he is still too small for the bath tub, so we bought him this cute little ducky bath tub for all of his bathing adventures. The funny thing is that the box says, " for sizes 6 months to 1 year old". As you can see from these photos, it won't be too long before Isaac out grows his special tub. Darn... Isaac isn't even 6 months old yet. The best part of this tub is that the beak quacks when you press on it.
