Lots of Rain

We have had a lot of rain here in Wellington this summer. The trees and the grass are nice and green, but it has been one of the worst summers here in regards to the cold and rain. Still, we are enjoying our time in Wellington connecting with our neighbors and friends from church. We have a lot to be thankful for.

Kisses

Posted by Picasa
Hudson was entertaining himself one day by making these two little pandas kiss...so cute! He is a really sweet kid. When I leave to go somewhere without Hudson he always makes sure to give me a kiss, and at night when I put him to bed he likes to give me kisses through the slats of his crib, just like his older brother did.

Hudson went through a stage at about 19 months when he thought it was funny to stick his head through the crib slats, wait until I was close enough to almost kiss him, and then throw himself backwards into his cot while squealing with laughter! He would do this several times each night before I would give up and just blow him a kiss. I wondered if I would ever get him to give me a real kiss, until about a month later he stopped and he has been giving me good night kisses ever since. :)

Final Student Life Party

October 2nd- We hosted a final Student Life Party and Meeting. It was a costume party, so we all enjoyed getting dressed up a bit and seeing what the students decided to wear for the big event. Josh and I dressed up as a couple from the 40's or around then....I was a house wife. Enjoy.

Thanksgiving Day Feast

We enjoyed hosting our third Thanksgiving Feast here in New Zealand since 2006. Everyone pitched in and we all had a lot of fun eating, talking and laughing. I just love Thanksgiving. I was very thankful for Nana's extra help in making this day a success.

Dominion Post Ferry to Dayz Bay

Since moving to Wellington we have always wanted to take the Dominion Post Ferry from the Wellington Harbour to Dayz Bay. We finally go the chance to make our dreams come true during Nana's visit. The boys loved the ferry ride and we all enjoyed playing on the beach and eating lunch at the Chocolate Dayz cafe.

Day Trip to the City

We took a day trip into the city via the bus (the trains were not running due to repairs)and had a light snack at the Astoria Cafe. We all shared a chocolate brownie and Josh had the best latte I have ever tasted. It was so frothy and delicious...it made me a fan of the latte for life! We stopped by the famous Bee Hive and took a picture on the way home. The Beehive is the common name for the Executive Wing of the New Zealand Parliament Buildings, located at the corner of Molesworth Street and Lambton Quay, Wellington.
