This excerpt from the "Vine" really encouraged me this morning. God has burdened our hearts to start looking for a home, as our apartment lease is up in the end of May and the Marquis Apartments have decided to raise our rent as well. We figure it might be a good time to look around at houses and take advantage of the housing market.
We know that only God will be able to provide us with the house that we have been praying for, and we are really looking forward to seeing how He will do it! He is a great God and we know that we can trust Him. So, here is the excerpt that encouraged me, followed by our prayer requests for a house.
When you're facing a mountain always remember: God can move it, He can level it, He can tunnel through it, or He can help you climb it. All you have to do is factor Him in by seeking His face and consulting His Word. 'Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom... ' (Colossians 3:16 KJV). Keep a rich deposit of Scripture within you and draw on it daily.
Prayer Requests for a house:
1. A living room that attaches to the kitchen (we want to have ample space so that we can have people over regularly for ministry purposes)
2. A backyard and play area in the basement for the boys so that as they grow older our house will be a place where kids will want to come and hang out.
3. A guest room in the basement so that we can have people stay with us that might be in need. Would be nice to have a bathroom downstairs as well.
4. Three bedrooms upstairs
5. Close to Isaac's school
6. On a cul-de-sack
5. The right price.
